A former UFC star makes a stunning BKFC debut, knocking down their opponent three times in a single round!
While UFC 322 was grabbing headlines, BKFC 84 was an equally thrilling event on the West Coast. In the main event, Lorenzo Hunt reclaimed his light heavyweight title with an incredible comeback, knocking out the champion Josh Dyer. But here's where it gets controversial...
BKFC's main card also featured the highly anticipated debut of ex-UFC fighter Aspen Ladd, a former PFL competitor. Ladd, at 30, made quick work of her opponent, Shyanne Bitliff, in the Squared Circle.
Aspen Ladd's Dominant Performance
Ladd fought a flawless first round, dropping Bitliff three times. Two of these knockdowns came towards the end of the round, with a bloody Bitliff being sent to the ropes by a powerful left hook from Ladd. Bitliff tried to recover, but Ladd's punishing shots in the clinch sealed the deal, causing Bitliff to fold in the final seconds.
The referee stopped the contest with just one second left, and Ladd was declared the winner by first-round knockout. This victory marks Ladd's first in BKFC, and she has certainly made a statement.
And this is the part most people miss... Ladd has an impressive resume, having fought against current UFC champion Kayla Harrison and former world champions Raquel Pennington, Germaine de Randamie, and Julia Budd. She even headlined the UFC twice!
Currently competing at 145 lbs, Ladd's BKFC debut is a testament to her skill and determination.
Lorenzo Hunt's Epic Comeback
Hunt's return to BKFC after a 19-month break was nothing short of spectacular. He was dropped twice by Dyer but came back with a powerful overhand right, putting Dyer to sleep.
Hunt's latest win echoes his 2023 KO victory over Mike Richman, with some fans noting the eerie similarity in the finishing sequences.
