Join the University of Manitoba's Project to Build Recommendations for Health Research Partnership Documentation and Reporting
Be a Part of a Groundbreaking Initiative!
We're seeking 25 participants for a unique project focused on enhancing the documentation and reporting of health research partnerships. This project aims to create practical recommendations that researchers can use when documenting and reporting on their health research partnership studies for academic publication.
What is a Health Research Partnership?
We define a health research partnership as a collaborative effort between at least one researcher and one knowledge user. The knowledge user actively influences or shapes the research project. Researchers can include professionals or academics who conduct rigorous studies, while knowledge users are the beneficiaries or contributors of the research, such as healthcare professionals, decision-makers, patients, and those with lived experiences.
Who Can Participate?
We welcome individuals who meet any of the following criteria:
- Knowledge users: decision-makers who have partnered in research
- Knowledge users: people with lived experience who have partnered in research
- Knowledge users: health professionals who have partnered in research
- Researchers who conduct health research partnerships
- Researchers who study health research partnerships
- Individuals with experience on research ethics boards
- Academic journal editors and publishers
- Health research funders
- Research partnership management or coordination staff
- Knowledge brokers or third parties supporting research partnerships
Time Commitment and Activities:
If you're selected, you'll engage in the following activities:
1. Pre-screening form: Share your identity, working context, and health research partnership background (10 minutes)
2. Delphi surveys: Participate in three rounds of surveys to rate the importance of various aspects of health research partnerships for documentation and reporting (1 hour each, 3 weeks per round, 2-3 weeks between rounds, totaling 3 hours over six months)
3. Optional focus group: Join a group discussion with participants sharing similar partnership backgrounds to delve into specific documentation and reporting items (90 minutes)
You can choose to complete the forms in English or French, and focus groups will be conducted in English.
What's in It for You?
Our research team will connect with you via email. If eligible, you'll receive a consent form and the first Delphi survey. Dr. Kathryn Sibley, the Principal Investigator and Professor at the University of Manitoba, will be your point of contact for any questions.
Compensation and Support:
Participants can request compensation, including a $30 CAD e-gift card for each project component completed, totaling $120 CAD. Your information will remain anonymous throughout the process.
