Mark Ruffalo Recalls a Chaotic Bar Fight During the Filming of Now You See Me
Mark Ruffalo, the talented actor known for his roles in The Avengers and The Wolf of Wall Street, recently shared a hilarious and unexpected story from the set of the original Now You See Me film. During an episode of his podcast, Ruffalo recounted a wild incident where he had to step in to save his co-star, Woody Harrelson, from a bar fight while filming in New Orleans.
Ruffalo vividly described the scene: "We were shooting Now You See Me in New Orleans, completely on the streets. It was a wild, Mardi Gras-like atmosphere. We were capturing some intense scenes with long lenses, and suddenly, we got dragged into a bar in the middle of a take. It was packed, and a woman approached Woody, gushing over him. Woody, being the charming man he is, put his hand on her arm and thanked her. But then, a guy came over and pushed her away, shoving Woody in the process."
Ruffalo continued, "Woody's first instinct was to punch the guy, which I totally agree with. But then, chaos ensued. I found myself in the middle of a full-blown bar fight. I had to act fast. I grabbed Woody and pulled him out of there. I thought, 'This could've gone south real quick. We might handle ourselves, but the rest of our crew... not so much.'"
Woody Harrelson, who was on the podcast, laughed at the memory, while his co-star Ted Danson added, 'That's a bad move, buddy.'
The story highlights the unexpected and chaotic nature of filming, especially in a vibrant city like New Orleans. It's a reminder that even in the controlled environment of a movie set, things can quickly spiral out of control.
